Stacey Laviolette is the creator of My Friend Toothy, a play-based program designed to help children feel confident and prepared for dental care. Her journey began when her three-year-old daughter was diagnosed with ten cavities. Overwhelmed and unsure how to help, Stacey realized that many parents felt the same fear, shame, and uncertainty, and that there were no tools to guide families through these moments.
Drawing on her psychology background, Stacey developed My Friend Toothy to support children and parents with playful strategies that reduce fear, build confidence, and make dental visits positive experiences. Through her work, she empowers families to turn stressful moments into opportunities for learning and growth.
Stacey believes that feeling stuck is not the end of the story, but often the beginning. By embracing guidance, play, and preparation, parents and children can navigate challenges with resilience, confidence, and joy. Stacey shares this message through her workshops, speaking engagements, and the My Friend Toothy program, helping children thrive in today’s overstimulated world.
